If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Thanks to Ouriel’s very readable blog, I found out about Outbrain, which promises to be a great tool for bloggers of most platforms. Basically it lets users rate your content, and over time it can build a list of recommended article for each and every reader, according to his/her likes & dislikes.Outbrain

I just started using it on my blog here, and hope you all can give it a workout by rating my posts. I get feedback on what you like and don’t like, and you will get (over time) recommendations and (pretty soon) better articles from me.

It’ll be good for you, too

Oh, and it only takes a (as in one) click. Thanks for your co-operation.

Just went through an update of this Blog from Wordpress 2.0 to 2.1.

Please do let me know of any problems you notice.

For the time being, the plug-in list does not work. Also, photopress is down, which means none of the lovely illustrations are displayed. Any hints on this one are very welcomed!

Update: Plug-in list works again – there was a new way that the <!–more–> tag interfered with the list tag. I just removed the former.

Photopress also works again, there was a slight mistake in the php. See the comment for the fix.

Also, the tags cloud page stopped working. It turned out that all my pages were gone. Fixed.

Artist\'s studioWhen you work in a creative field – or maybe in any field – how do you measure your success? And what is success? Those artists who are successful in their lifetimes are often forgotten in later centuries; and vice versa. Just think Kafka, who wanted his work do be destroyed ( – though Mozart, as often wrongly assumed, did not die poor.) Many a famous writers are long forgotten. (And who bothers to watch E.T. these days?)
Are those people who are paid most automatically best at their jobs? Is James Cameron one of the best film directors? Or just one of the most ruthless ones?

But more to the point; while you are a struggling artist (be that an Actor/Actress, Photographer, Script writer, Director, or even Producer) – how do you know if you are good at your job (and just not yet discovered)? more…

Hans pointed me to this awesome tour-de-force of how the web has changed & thereby changed us.

A transcript is available at the author’s site. Be sure to have a look at the Sandbox section. Boy, if I was 20 now, I might seriously consider studying there.

After I changed my wife´s private blog´s graphics, I felt like doing the same for mine. Looking back, I probably shouldn’t have, since spare time is not something I really have. As it turned out, my new design made it impossible to leave comments. So for now I am back to yet another theme, that will change a bit over the next few days (or weeks, or lifespans).
