Thanks to Doug, I found this phantastic video about how advertising has detached itself from the consumer. Or rather, how the consumers have changed, while the advertisers haven’t.

Hop over to Bring The Love Back to read the blog around this film.

Looks like the industry really has changed, especially since it appears that Microsoft is pushing for the change?

What is also interesting about this campaign, is that it is Internet only. That means no distribution via the standard TV commercial. Looks like Microsoft, for once, has learned a lesson and can be innovative.

  1. FYI, the video is not loading! Nevertheless, it’s nice to see the 2 campaigns (the break up and the one for Office) in the same post based on the fact that both only use internet as a medium!

  2. Thanks for visiting, Geert.

Weird that it doesn’t load on your machine – could you let me know if this problem is only with one of the clips or all of them? Which OS and browser are you using? (I checked in on Mac on both Safari and Firefox, and there it works fine…)

    Have a great weekend!

  3. i used XP with IE7, strangely enough only the movie from the break up didn’t work, the ones from office were fine.

  4. Thanks – I changed the code a bit, could you let me know if it works now?

(And – I couldn’t resist this one – a good example of why Microsoft is not the most beloved of all internet related companies.) But – your campaign does its bit on changing that view.
